Dancing with The Chrononauts is really quite a lark
Summer Sundays, 6 p.m., the band shell in the park
Mazurkas, polkas, they're exercise, there is no swing and sway
Time travelers brought us new dance music, écouter, s'il vous plaît
Hop step first. Start with your left foot then walk forward four
Then with your left foot, back four steps
And do it all once more.... watch me
I'm going to show you the next 2 parts right here....
Once the basic steps are down, the rest is easier still
Repeat them right side, left side once, use bounce and sway to fill
There is a "marking time" before you reach the first repeat
Move your hips north, east, south, west to the funky beat
Now you're gonna show your stuff
And how! So simple, hardly rough.
You've got it down, I know you do
It's not just exercise
Give it your best shouldst you forget
Just stand and improvise.
You gave it your best, I knew you could do it
You certainly did do your best, I knew you would work through it
You don't need me anymore to do this funky dance
But we can do it one more time, this is your second chance.
C'est tout!

By way of explanation 'cuz ya really gotta know
I have absolutely no idea how it started so
I can only tell you honestly i don't know how it happened
All my steampunk friends and peeps have taken up to rappin'
Simple rhymes simple pleasures order of the day
Professor's got a word for it, it's not feng shuei
Fighting in your trousers, drinking java joy
Elemental's pleasures are for the hoi poloy
Elemental pleasures were the thing to do
Boxing is so commonplace, not for me and you
There's no joys in Middle Class, only just the bunk
Lets add some joy to Middle Class, lets add FUNK
Drinking tea, eating scones, VERY Middle Class
Piss off the tea, funk the scones, get up off your ass
Your expectations high or low, I'll certainly surpass
Steampunk FUNK needs one more thing, lets add some funky brass.
(chorus)
What you knew 'til now was cool, what you knew 'til now
Here comes something new, a jewel, and golly gosh oh wow
Gotta get up on your feet, gotta take a chance
Gotta get up on your feet and do a funny dance
Shake your bodice and your bustle, snap your corset stays
You can get your pleasures now in oh so many way
Shake your bodice and your bustle now its time to funk
We can dance all night together you can touch my junk
(repeat chorus)
Shake your bodice and your bustle pick that bass guitar
Add kick drum and funky brass, it's Steampunk Funk Bizarre!

AGE OF STEAM
Time and space do intertwine
In Steampunk Worlds its quite sublime
The Aethernet our transit stream to
Worlds unknown, all run by sssssteam….
Machines, ahhhhh, they do get the job done, don’t they!
Massive shovels scoop the ground
Digging holes in which to lay foundations strong
For structures tall, benefiting one and all.
Skyscrapers rise a tribute to Steampowered Lords
And Ladies who, with corsets tight, and proper bustle
Twixt the scrapers quickly hustle…
Shopping, dining, meeting with their friends
Chatting, cat-ing, they try to make amends for
Indiscretions oh, so slight, they chat away on thru the night
(oh!) (oh!) (oh!) (oh!)
Its 4 0’clock, its time for tea…
Lets talk a little more about me!
Oh, er, ah, um, well, not me actually…lets talk about…
HER! THAT ONE! THERE!
HER! THAT ONE! THERE!
The other side of town, the Lords
Sit round a table, time for board meetings.
Aha, yes, power!
Cigar smoke curls into the ceiling
Bandy this and bandy that, all the Lords do share the feeling
Time is money, money is time,
Calculate, Manipulate
It WILL be sublime to rule the WORLD , aha, this VERY DAY!
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city…
Ladies finished drinking tea
No more crumpets, no more scones,
Hats in place, time to go and meet the Lords
And return to our stately homes… hummmmm.
It’s a wonderful time and a wonderful age
To be alive don’t you think?
Consider this…
Steamcars rolling, airships flying
High into the air…
Things of beauty SO destroyed
By those who do not care.

Merde! Mon Dieu! Absinthe! Sacrebleu! (X 4)
Diamond dogs! Lecherous men!
Crime rates spiral up without controls
Physical ills, social blights rock us to the bottom of our souls
There is a cause as we all know, soaking into image ridden brains
Psychotic visions, bursts of light~we've GOT to know, I ask you
Who's to blame?
what is this curse that is so foul, causing minds to wither and decay
She looks so pretty... innocent... Its that evil vicious bitch
That little green fée
Merde! Mon Dieu! Absinthe! Sacrebleu! (X 4)
Luminaries of the day inside the Moulin Rouge
Dripping water, sugar cubes, looking for the louche
Brilliant men their minds obsessed with creative thought
Here's the names and you'll see
That absinthe's not for naught
Oscar Wilde and Van Gogh, Manet, Edgar Allen Poe
Arthur Rimbaud, Hemmingway
Bohemia is on display
Jules Verne, LaTrec Talouse
Picture that!! No thoughts obtuse
Paul Gauguin, Edgar Degas
Artists painting near and far
They had style, no disgrace
Creative minds all in their place
Pablo, Charles, n'est pas c'est tout?
Eric Satie, nous aimons vous
Gentlemen with wormwood minds
Brilliant in their thought designs
What shall we do? Fée verte's no rogue
LETS GO FOR DRINKS! Absinthe is VOGUE!
Merde! Mon Dieu! Absinthe! Sacrebleu! (X 4)

4 O CLOCK TIME FOR TEA, KETTLE’S ON TO BOIL
GET THE CUPS, SLICE A LEMON, ALL THIS WORK AND TOIL
SUGAR LUMPS ONE OR TWO…A BISCUIT OR A SCONE?
LETS SIT AND CHAT AND TALK A BIT
MY HOW TIME HAS FLOWN!
And you do this every day at 4? I admire your stamina.. and so many choices, too.. come to the cupboard… look quite a selection…
OOOOOLONG, ORANGE PEKOE, BLACK OR MAYBE GREEN
EARL GRAY, LADY GRAY OR SOMETHING INBETWEEN
GUNPOWDER ASSAM? NOT IN YOU BLOODY DREAMS
PRINCE OF WALES, JASMINE, CHAI…CHOICES CHOICES EVERYWHERE …THEY’RE GONNA MAKE ME SCREAM
I just don’t understand the infatuation with ruddy leaves picked and put into bags made in Copenhagen…how did you want this served?
IN A TEABAG, IN A SIEVE, CAUSE I DON’T GIVE A DAMN
AFTERNOON OR HIGH TEA, CLOTTED CREAM AND JAM?
POUR THE WATER, ADD THE MILK…NO WAIT, THE OTHER WAY?
I CAN’T COPE AND I CAN STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY
To brew a bloody cup of tea… and there are those that extol the virtues of this beverage, did you know that…
HOW DOES HE DO IT I DON’T KNOW THAT PERSON IN A CASTLE
SEEMS SO COLLECTED ALL TOGETHER NEVER HAS A HASTLE
ITS ALL A RUSE, I KNOW IT IS, CAN’T BE THAT CALM YOU SEE
I’M FROM THE STATES, MAKES ME CRAZY, BREWING BLOODY TEA
.
There are alternatives; you know that… this is a coffee pot. And you can readily buy a whole variety on almost every street corner and petrol stop, too.
STARBUCKS…COSTA…THAT THE WAY TO GO
CAFFE LATTE, CAFFE MOCHA, THEN THERE’S CAPPACHINOOOO
MACHIATOS, FRAPACHINOS, HOT LIKE MOLTON LAVA
MY DEAREST FRIEND, DO SIT BACK DOWN AND HAVE A CUPPA JAVA.

Dinner for Two

Would you care for some wine before dinner? Do you have a preference...red or white?
Cabernet Soviegnon, full bodied, so complex
Cerebral notes and somewhat sweet
A red wine for the fairer sex.
Oh, you dont want any of that... lk, lets dee what elso... Did you decide on a main course??
Shiraz tastes of wild black fruit
With overtones of peppered spice
It's the lush red color of your lips
A glass with you would be so very nice
And then there's Merlot, with textures
round
Like plums and berries: My thoughts abound
If you've not indulged in wine its time
For untried fruits can be sublime
(spoken) Don't want any of that either, do you... wine lists are quite endless... perhaps something in the whites...
There's Chardonnay so dry so white
As pale as your skin in the glistening moonlight
An array of flavors, fruit, melon and oak
A lasting impression, I know you'll not choke.
A delicious white wine penis/ Pino Gregio by name
Would suit your fancy, your claim to fame
Smooth honey flavors on the tip of your tongue
Awake the pleasures of night songs unsung.
You know, you really must decide on what you want for dinner...what you want for the main course dictates the kind of wine you order... you want what?
